I believe that teaching and research should be closely related; I am enthusiastic about sharing my own research with my students and using teaching opportunities to discuss developing research output and showing students how knowledge about the field is constantly evolving.

Science Fiction (30 credit unit, term 2, Level 6/3rd Year) – unit coordinator, lecturer, and seminar leader for a module that examines the historical, theoretical, and scientific understanding of genre science fiction. Click here to view a copy of the unit guide.
Women in Science Fiction (evening class open to public – run through HOME, Manchester independent cinema) – course leader. This course introduces participants to central ideas surrounding women’s depiction in science fiction and considers how changing attitudes towards gender (alongside race and sexuality) are mediated through this stereotypically male-dominated genre.
